As the Anything Anything radio show gets ready to announce its return and since technically I’m not on a radio station yet, I am able to discuss some of the ratings of the show when it existed on RXP.
Once I am back on the radio, I’m not allowed to discuss them on air or via this sort of thing. So let’s use the lull and the “unemployment” to let you know how your favorite free form radio show did against the other rock and roll radio stations..
In the New York radio market, which accounts for the entire metropolitan area, here’s how the stations did at 8pm and then at 9pm once Anything anything began. This is the share of audience (from Arbitron) against the key demographics of Adults 25-54 and Men 25-54. The Top station is in bold.
Sunday 8p-9p (BEFORE anything anything) adults 25-54/men 25-54
WAXQ 3.5/4.0
WBAB 0.7/0.7
WDHA 0.3/0.5
WRCN 0.0/0.0
WRXP 2.1/2.0
WXPK 0.6/0.1
Sunday 9p-11p (DURING anything anything) adults 25-54/men 25-54
WAXQ 1.2/1.1
WBAB 0.4/0.4
WDHA 0.2/0.2
WRCN 0.0/0.0
WRXP 2.3/2.8
WXPK 0.0/0.1
And since Monmouth and Ocean Counties have been a big part of my show with events etc, here’s how it looks down there for adults 25-54 and men 25-54
Sunday 8p-9p (BEFORE anything anything) adults 25-54/men 25-54
WAXQ 2.2/4.3
WCHR 2.2/4.3
WRAT 11.3/6.9
WRXP 4.8/4.3
Sunday 9p-11p (DURING anything anything) adults 25-54/men 25-54
WAXQ 0.6/1.1
WCHR 0.0/0.0
WRAT 6.5/4.3
WRXP 6.5/10.6
As you can see anything anything was appointment listening as it improved on the previous hour on WRXP and went on to beat all rock and roll stations in the market. I want to thank all of the listeners for their support and trust of a show that was 100% free form on the commercial dial in an era where people didn’t think it would last let alone win it’s time slot against legendary rock stations.
Thanks again and make sure you are by a radio or streaming device on Wednesday 9/14 as we announce the relaunch of the show in a very unprecedented fashion.
