Speculation is mounting that this Friday Black Sabbath will announce, during a press conference, that they will be reuniting for a tour and perhaps maybe even an album with all the original members–meaning with Ozzy.
According to Herald Sun:
The conference will be held Friday local time at Los Angeles’ Whiskey a Go Go club, where the English band made its LA debut on November 11, 41 years ago. Meanwhile the group’s official website now reads “Black Sabbath 11.11.11.” Key media have been invited to the press event at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month of 2011. The four original members of the band – Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward – will be present.
If this ends up being true it’s going to be an early Christmas for metalheads. An original Sabbath reunion could either mark a noted upswing in interest for conventional hard rock or be seen as another cog in the ever-trending nostalgia kick that’s been going on with many bands as of late.
We’ll find out on 11/11/11.
