Hot off their insane six hour song and news of an even more-insane 24 hour song in a human skull (!) comes the news that they’ll finally be collecting all of the collaborations they’ve been working on this year and assembling them for a special Record Store Day LP early next year.
It will gather their work with Neon Indian, Lightning Bolt, and Prefuse 73, with whom they have released collaborative EPs this year, along with in-the-works collabs with Nick Cave, Death Cab for Cutie, Ghostland Observatory, and Cloudland Canyon.
This is as close to a straightforward release as you’re likely to get from The Flaming Lips these days. Details on if the LP will be JUST a special limited edition RSD item or if that’s just the general release date have not been released.
