Check Out David Lynch’s Hilarious/Frightening New Song “Crazy Clown Time”

Crazy Clown Time is almost upon us!

There are two ways to look at David Lynch‘s “Crown Clown Time”, the titular track off his forthcoming LP, due out November 7th (via Sunday Best Recordings and PIAS America). On one hand, it sounds like an obscure Radiohead 7″ single, only spun at 33 1/2 rpm. But on the flipside, it just plays out like a regular evening with Mr. Lynch. Over wavy, loungey instrumentation, the “auteur of weird” exclaims oddities like “She rips her shirt off completely” and “We all ran around the backyard” and “It’s crazy clown time.” Somewhere in there a woman moans again and again.

Sounds absurd. After having listened to the entire track though, I have to say, I will not be able to sleep tonight. Or ever again. Download the track now (via Lynch’s Facebook).

David Lynch’s Crazy Electronic-Pop Album Now Has An Equally Crazy Title

David Lynch has panties in his mouth. Your argument is invalid.

Famous film and television director David Lynch (Twin Peaks, Blue Velvet) will be releasing his first full length album of Electronic-Pop music on November 8th via the Sunday Best Recordings label. Oh, also, the album is called Crazy Clown Time.

This is shaping up to be Crispin Glover’s album all over again and I couldn’t be more excited.

Lynch has had a few forays into music before, working with Julie Cruise and Angelo Badalamenti on soundtrack work and, more recently, being featured on two tracks of the Dangermouse/Sparklehorse project Dark Night Of The Soul.

But it will be interesting to see what the oft-visionary, oft-abstract director brings to the world of music with a full offering of nightmare fuel this fall.
